Your generous work is sure to bring a smile and hope to someone recently diagnosed with breast cancer, and you accomplished this by doing something you love to do! Thank you for being one of many local stained glass artists who built small panels for the Southern Oregon Flowers of Hope Program.

Here's some background on the project:

Several years ago, Denise Hurley of Glass Addicts Stained Glass Creations published a book entitled "Flowers of Hope", dedicated to increasing breast cancer awareness. Her hope was that glass artists across America would unite in using the 27 designs in the book to support breast cancer awareness efforts. The designs could be made individually or put together into larger "quilt" panels. The stained glass flower panels would then be given to patients, auctioned off or put on display to celebrate the courage and memory of those who have been touched by breast cancer.

In 2005, LightGarden Glass Art started a similar project in the Southern Oregon area. After discussing the idea with Jolene Wallace from the Leila J. Eisenstein Breast Center at Providence Hospital she agreed that it was a great idea. We recognized that a small investment of our time could mean so much to a woman recently diagnosed with cancer. Women facing this serious problem really need something positive to focus on. We glass artists are determined to make such a difference in one person's life.
